Five Daily Tasks That Can Help Improve Your Productivity

If you want to become a master at productivity, you need to be focused, determined and dedicated. If you acquire all of these traits then even the most difficult task will become manageable.

Enhancing your productivity is such a simple way to improve your overall performance, if you’re willing to prepare, a little effort can go a long way. The following are very simple tasks that can make all the difference when improving productivity.

  1. Develop a routine and stick to it

Start getting up at 7am and starting your day then, as this will give you a window of time for some distraction-free work or planning which will put you completely ahead of the game when 9am comes around.

Each routine is completely different for everyone, you may need to try a few different things to see what works best for you. Though it may carry on into the weekends, it does allow you to become more dedicated, disciplined and increase your overall productivity.

  1. Dedicate specific times during a day to tackle your inbox

If you attempt to respond to every email immediately then you will get absolutely no work done and accomplish nothing throughout the day. Something that you could try is dedicating specific time slots which allow you to drive through your inbox without taking up too much time.

Sometimes urgent emails will arise and therefore responses will be needed outside of these set time zones, but that’s understandable, but as a business owner or entrepreneur, it’s important to know what emails can wait and which require immediate attention.

  1. Create a visual to-do-list

Creating a to-do-list for anyone is key, but in order for it to be effective, you need it to stare at you in the face all day. Rather than having it on little sticky-notes on your desk, have it on a large whiteboard and keep it updated daily.

By having your to-do-list directly in front of you, it shows you what tasks you should focus on and what needs to be finished by the days’ end.

  1. Prep your workstation for the next day

Is never easy trying to be productive in a messy environment. If you aren’t organised then you waste more time trying to find things as you’re having to navigate through your mess. It’s always a good idea at the end of the day you start cleaning your desk up to allow for you to come to work in a cleaner environment as your desk can be perfectly prepped and organised as you need it.

Working in a cluttered environment is distracting and it takes away from what you should actually be doing, which is working. By having a clean environment, it allows you to stay focused on what needs to be done, if you move stuff around to make room or add them to the mess it’s a huge productivity killer.

  1. Eat smaller meals more frequently daily

If you work out on a daily basis, it can provide you with more energy through the day, even when you may get a minimal amount of sleep. Sticking to the regular three large meals a day can mean that your energy levels will fluctuate and productivity can decline. Whereas by changing this to six smaller meals a day means that you’re constantly energised which increases your productivity levels.
